Jonathan Esquivel, DDS, is a private practice prosthodontist passionate about patient care and the advancement of his profession. He received dental training at Universidad Americana in his hometown of Managua, Nicaragua. After graduating from dental school, he joined his father's practice for four years. Due to his growing interest in prosthetics, he decided to pursue specialty training in prosthodontics at LSUSD, completing the residency in 2013. He was accepted and completed an Esthetics and Surgical Implant Fellowship in 2014 at LSUHSC.
Dr. Esquivel also served as a faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics at LSU School of Dentistry. Throughout his career as an educator, he won numerous awards, including "The Golden Apple "excellence in teaching award, along with being named honorary faculty member for the C. Edmund Kells Honorary Society and faculty member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Theta Kappa Chapter. He was selected to participate in the dental student "white coat ceremony", an honor bestowed upon respected faculty members, and has recently been awarded the "Dr. Allen A. Copping" excellence in teaching award and has been awarded the Brasseler USA Professorship in prosthodontics and won the Claude Baker award from the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. Dr. Esquivel is also an author who has published in reputable peer-reviewed journals on dental implants and esthetics and is a sought-after speaker nationally and internationally.
